(I say “like” because I’m not 100% sure if they were mangroves, but seemed like it).Īfterwards was a show where Tom was in a fenced in area WITH several very large gators. Gator Park takes you into grassy Everglades although the beginning is through water channels that are mangrove-like. Thinking back I don’t recall seeing very young children like toddlers. So with little ones I’m not sure what you would do. When they get the boats flying I was glad to have them. The boats were running back to back and that kept the lines down. I was going to buy the tickets in advance but we were too wishy washy with our plans so chanced it and bought them on arrival at the park. Hi Everyone, I was just in the Everglades Monday December 27, 2021. Lastly, will a 2 yr old enjoy airboat at all or should we just avoid it due to the noise? Some operators are offering a buggy tour as well. Is there any real difference between the two? I suspect it's just a gimmick to create extra packages but wanted to check. There are different types of airboat tours - Mangrove and Grasslands. Are these the same, better or worse than those closer to Everglades City? The most famous airboat tours all seem to be closer to Miami (Gator Park, Everglades Safari Park, Coppertown). Is that just a function of demand/supply or are these tours actually offering better experience? And these seem to be the pricier than those operating closer to Miami. There are airboat tours at Everglades City (we found two: Captain Jack's and Wootens) that seem to be over private property. For context, we'll have an 8yr old and a 2yr old with us. We want to do at least one and can't figure out the gotchas to select the right one. We are finding all kinds of Airboat tours online. Never been to Florida before so need your advice :) We will be making a 2 day / 1 night (Sunday AM to Monday PM) trip to the Everglades from Tampa in mid-April, as part of a longer Florida trip.
